What is Skype for Business?

Skype For Business Clients

If you are using your AU Windows Computer or Virtual Desktop (Citrix) you may already have Skype for Business installed, open your Start menu and enter Skype in the search. If not you can install Skype for Business via Altiris. Please do not install Office 365 on your AU Windows computer.

If you have Microsoft Office you may already have Skype for Business installed on your computer.

Install Skype for Business - Android (Phone/Tablet)

Guest participants should generally use the Web App. When joining a Skype for Business meeting via a meeting invitation link the web app can be downloaded directly from the web browser.

Teleconference Integration

Teleconference intergration is available for Skype for Buisness accounts, but this feature is only provided on request. If you would like a teleconference code for your Skype for Business account please have your supervisor request one for you via the ServiceNow web portal.

Teleconference information will automatically be added to your Skype for Business invitiations once this feature has been enabled for your account.

Skype for Business - Cameras & Headsets

To fully participate in a Skype for Business video conference you will need a camera, microphone and speakers. Depending on the built in capabilities of your device, and your location, you may need to add external devices to use Skype for Business effectively.
