Skype for Business Documentation

To fully participate in a Skype for Business video conference you will need a camera, microphone and speakers. Depending on the built in capabilities of your device, and your location, you may need to add external devices to use Skype for Business effectively.

If you are in a quiet space where the conference audio will not disturb others, and have a device with a good quality built in camera, speakers, and microphone, you should not need any of the accessories below.

If you need a camera and/or microphone, we suggest this one:

Microsoft LifeCam HD-3000

Expected Price: About $35

Some Purchasing Options: (Please make sure you are not paying more than the price above.)

If you need speakers and/or a microphone, we suggest this headset:

Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000

Expected Price: About $30

Some Purchasing Options: (Please make sure you are not paying more than the price above.)

If you need a camera, speakers and a microphone, we suggest both items above.

If you have a departmental meeting room, and want to make it a Skype for Business capable room:

Please contact the IT Help Desk to arrange a discussion on how to best upgrade your meeting room.
